The problem with tulips is that they are so striking in person. Tulips are tall, proud flowers, with rich, velvety petals. Each tulip stands up and makes its own statement. They are--as my mother says--dramatic.
But when you take a picture of a tulip, the image is often disappointing. The tulip's presence fails to come across. Therefore, the challenge when making an image of a tulip is how to convey the feeling you get when looking at a tulip. I don't know when or if I will ever meet this goal. How do the tulips make you feel?
